This is a cropped version of a commissioned pic for :iconmihoshik:. For those who don't know, she's Seven of Nine from Star Trek: Voyager. You never see her without her catsuit on (as far as I know) so I took some artistic liberty with the parts of her body you don't see in the show (sorry if I offend any of you rabid 7 of 9 fans :3 ). Anyhow, I'll be coloring this so I'll post the full version once it's colored. :)

Pencil: 3 hours
Photoshop CS3: 5 mins.

Me? Crass? I wouldn't dream of it.

...I'd just outright ask for it instead. Dreaming is useless here.

Hello!

I'm a pretty big fan of your work (specially your lineart). so i decided to try and followed your tutorial and i was wondering... "How do you achieve such solid and clean lines from the scan??". Everything I always get is a bunch of grainy lines that look like chalk

you must have scanning powers

oh btw... why did the hentai section dissapeared!!

....and thanks for your time

I try to draw really crisp lines using mechanical pencils. I also draw on 9x12 Smooth Bristol paper. You'll get some graininess when you scan your image at a large resolution, but when you adjust the levels and then shrink the image down you lose most of the graininess. I also sometimes go back and touch up some of the finer details (like the face) digitally with my graphics tablet.

Here's what my lineart typically looks like straight from the scanner: [link]

And this is what it looks like after I'm done with it: [link]
