This was supposed to be my entry for Aggiecon's t-shirt contest, but I didn't make the deadline so I put it off until today (Aggiecon's tomorrow!). I dunno if they would've accepted a naked girl for a t-shirt design anyway so it really doesn't matter I guess. :/
The kanji is pronounced "Fushichou no hi" and, not surprisingly, means Phoenix fire. Don't know how Japanese a phoenix really is, but I couldn't think of anything else to add in that huge void where the kanji is right now.  Photoshop CS: 5 hours 20 minutes. No pen tool used. Just some really close-up detailing with a hard-edged brush. [edit] Added that touch of red. These minimalistic renditions don't require much to change the impact of the image.  [EDIT] Sorry people, I had to reduce the size because of continuous art theft. I'll be shrinking and watermarking all my work from now on.  |
